I would at the very least get a rubber band that can incorporate the clasp and is curved to match the watch. 10k watch on a band brings the watch’s look down tremendously.
I usually prefer bracelets on Rolex models but explorer 2 I actually think looks better on a rubber strap. I agree with you on the bracelet. I think it has a lot to do with the steel bezel. Looks nice! I'd like to try a blue RubberB strap on my blue OP36, but they don't advertise any straps to fit that specific model. I have come across a number of posts (mostly on r/watches) saying that RubberB straps will fit across Rolex models with the same lug width, but there never seems to be any photographic proof showing exactly how well the strap fits.
