Better use a good chrome or stainless steel polish from car accessories and a decent lint-free cloth. I use professional polishing equipment to keep my watches scratch-free, including a 2-head polishing wheel, buffers, a Dremel, several rouges and pastes, and both JSP and Selvyt cloths, plus a polishing pen and several grades of polishing blocks for matte finishes. I know there are mixed opinions on polishing, but I decided to use cape cod cloth, per the advice of someone on this thread, and I am extremely happy with the results!
I have Rolex Sub 16610 and GMT Master both are all SS and its brushed (center link is not shiny). Can I use Cape Cod cloth to remove scratches? or somthing else. I read on some forum that I user Autosolve instead as Cape Cod is only for shiny surface. Let me know please. Thanks.
The cloth itself comes pre-treated with a chemical polishing compound impregnated within the cloth. As you buff, the compound in conjunction with the fibrous cloth and the friction created by the rubbing motion acts just like a mild rubbing compound you would use on a car to remove scratches from the paint.
