I just picked up a GMT IIc, and as I've pulled off the protective stickers.I've noticed some residue/glue left over on the watch (most notibly on the back casing). So here is my question, what is the best way to get it off. I don't want to look at an ugly cheap green plastic hologram sticker on my . It was extremely difficult to part with a ROLEX anachronism like. I enjoyed my time with the green sticker and have finally built-up the courage to remove it. I just picked up a GMT IIc, and as I've pulled off the protective stickers.I've noticed some residue/glue left over on the watch (most notibly on the back casing). So here is my question, what is the best way to get it off.
I don't want to look at an ugly cheap green plastic hologram sticker on my caseback so I started picking away to remove it. After removing the sticker, the caseback was covered with sticky remnants of the glue! I was able to clean and remove all the glue remnants without scratching the caseback.It was extremely difficult to part with a ROLEX anachronism like. I enjoyed my time with the green sticker and have finally built-up the courage to remove it. It doesn't do any harm to leave it on, but it will deteriorate. If you're into keeping the accessories, and I mean all of them, then the common solution is to carefully peel it off and stick it to some plastic or wax paper and save it with the rest of the toys.Why is there a red line on the back of a new watch? As mentioned Rolex now features a transparent caseback sticker. Normally, the side of a transparent protective sticker has some kind of colored edge so that you know where to pull, in order to remove it.

Remove green hologram sticker on caseback?
Inspired by @Ronbo710 and his beautiful DW-5000C , i decided to remove caseback stickers on some of my waches. The thoughs have been in my head for some time, afraid for ugly marks due to corrosion. Happily all casebacks looked fine 🙂 The only time I haven't removed stickers, is when the case back has an engraved design and I'd rather it not collect the dirt/sweat that will naturally collect underneath your watch. And, that's only if the original sticker retains its ability to adhere. As seen when looked at closely (I did my best to show it in the picture), the green "hologram" sticker is still fastened to the case back of my 16622 Yachtmaster with the plastic protector still stuck on top. When I delicately go to lift the edge of the plastic protector piece it seems quite stuck on there.
